The school of Sholapuram
Shuddhananda Bharati Desiya Vidyalayam High School
Founder-President:
Dr. Shuddhananda Bharati
Founded in 1979 by Dr. Shuddhananda Bharati, this school is located at Sholapuram, a small village close to Sivaganga, in the South of India.
The school previously for 50 pupils receives today nearly 450 children. The school and the teaching methods are approved by the Indian Administration.
Dr. Shuddhananda Bharati, the founder, wrote and translated all the manuals needed for teaching into Tamil language for Culture, Philosophy, Sciences, Mathematics, Languages Training, Singing and Acting. More, the pupils practise Physical Education and Yoga.
In 1982, Dr. Shuddhananda Bharati, with his own funds began the construction of the new building. Unfortunately, the funds only allowed to build the foundations, so during his life he could not see the achievement of the school.
He met in 1983 S. Ram Bharati, who promised him to gather the funds required to finish the building. The school was inaugurated in 1992, two years after Dr. Shuddhananda Bharati’s death.
Since, life in Sholapuram school goes on… Now, 5 classrooms of 90 pupils are opened and discipline during classes is really impressive!
Few years ago, all around the school, trees were planted to cool down the building, offering shade during hot summer days.
Plans for the future:
* | To finish the building of the second floor and to offer Vocational Training classes. |
* | To open a Computing class. |
* | To promote Arts and Culture teaching. |
